“Seoul Fermented Food & Culture Show”

Kicks off in Seoul August 16 ~ 18, 2018 At COEX, Seoul, Korea

Fermented foods, in Korea and around the world not only sustains much of the world’s population but also provides many health benefits.  Here you will be able to see a variety of fermented foods and the wonders of microorganisms.  Alcohol – perhaps the world’s most infamous fermented food – and its culture will also be on display.  Here you will also be able to see and experience a variety of fermented food products such as kimch, sauce, cheese and yoghurt in the making.
Korean food is referred to in Korean as Hansik. While many other Asian ethnic foods such as Chinese or Japanese food have become popular throughout the world, Korean food has yet to reach its peak. The Korean government is crusading for the globalization of hansik in cooperation with companies, civic groups and the mass media. As the people of the world gain a better understanding of Korean food, its flavors, and its roots, Korean food will undoubtedly become a global commodity like the food of Korea’s neighbors.

Seoul World Fermented Food & Culture Show is the Korea’s second Fermented Food & Culture Show, specializing the fermented foods, culture and industrial show purposed on providing hopes to agricultural industry through fermented foods of secondary processing industry, promoting the health, and vitalizing the economy. Also, it provides a platform for wide cultural communication and exchanges of worldwide cultural heritage of fermentation with each unique life and culture of the nation.

It has promoted the future value of fermentation that represents life and science, and has stimulated the growth of fermented food industry by finding excellent fermented foods and displaying fermented foods and products. It is held every August at Convention and Exhibition Center(COEX), along with Fermentation Exhibits, B2B Trade Consultation, International Conference and Fermentation Experiment Programs. It is designed to introduce the excellence of healthy macrobiotic food of fermentation, to contribute to spreading fermentation culture and vitalizing the industry based on integrated marketing and global network.
